Locations for this position include, Duluth MN, Fargo ND, or Brainerd MN. Works in conjunction with the Directors of Pharmacy Services and other leaders to develop, organize, implement, monitor and review all clinical activities within their area of pharmacy department oversight. Provides leadership to ensure the goals and policies of the department are in alignment with Mission and Values of Essentia Health and regulatory guidance. Leads development and innovation of the clinical practice model. Contributes to strategic planning for the department, and assures fiscal management of services in accordance with the highest standards of stewardship. Assures pharmacy services are provided at the highest quality to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Guides and oversees leaders responsible for the departments residency programs, students and interns. Key Responsibilities: In partnership with pharmacy leaders and other stakeholders, provide oversight of system-wide hospital clinical practice and associated strategies in assigned areas, driving patient care excellence and ensuring the achievement of department and organizational goals. Maintain accountability to highest standards of stewardship for assigned areas, in collaboration with other stakeholders. Informs and participates in formulary decision making and strategies. Serves as a professional resource in facilitating interdisciplinary practice and communication. Provides pharmacy representation and leadership on pharmacy, system, and external committees related to hospital clinical pharmacy services and value-based care. Foster an environment that provides consistent excellence in patient and colleague experience, outcomes that meet or exceed quality standards, operational targets and financial targets, a culture of employee engagement and wellbeing, and regulatory compliance. Build strong relationships with all internal groups, external agencies, and other stakeholders to anticipate needs and ensure alignment within a highly matrixed environment. Support and lead programs for pharmacy learners and continuing education. Provide and coordinate direct patient care Maintain a meaningful clinical practice. Perform other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
