Responsibilities -Service Tech:
- Responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.
- Perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of, with some assistance: engines, power train to include differentials, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems including starters and alternators, HVAC systems, steering and suspension systems, electronics to include ECM's, PCM’s, ECU's, sensors, etc.
- Communicate with our Parts Department to obtain needed parts
- Save and tag parts if the repair is under warranty or requested by the customer
- Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required
- Road-test vehicles when requested
- Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
- Ensure that serviced vehicles are returned in clean, showroom condition
- Keep Service Area neat. Be able to account for dealership-owned tools at all times
- Follow government regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste
- Follow safety procedures and immediately report accidents to manager or supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements - Service Tech:
- At least two years of automotive service technician experience.
- Volkswagen Service Technician experience required, at least 1 year
- General mechanical skills
- Pennsylvania State and Emissions Inspection License
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. ASE certification preferred.
- Must have own tools
- Valid driver's license and acceptable, safe driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
