OUR Department:
Rochester Regional Health offers a full range of Dialysis treatment options to patients with chronic kidney disease. We treat adults from people from multiple backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities. We care for patients temporarily, either their kidney function recovers or they return to their home dialysis center, move or get a transplant; or some are with us on an ongoing basis. Patients have dialysis treatment anywhere from 2-3 days a week, from 3 to 5 hours each treatment. Our staffing model consists of RN’s, LPN’s and Techs.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in Dialysis, you are key in the success of operations and compassionate patient care every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Care & Evaluation. Conduct a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment; provide regular patient status updates
- Treatment Administration. Assist in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN); initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments using multiple access sites; administer IVP medications to dialysis patients
- Documentation. Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner

Key Responsibilities:
The LPN working in Hemodialysis responsibilities include application/mastery of skills in area of specialization, guidance and general oversight to less experienced employees; may train new employees. The duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues, patient cases or technical skills.
•Conducts and documents a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment.
•Assists in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the RN.
EDUCATION:
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
