The System Controls Engineer will join the team that develops advanced controls for Chillers and Smart Building products used by our customers to run their buildings and manage their energy costs. Get ready to work as part of a close-knit team of experienced engineers and apply and enhance your engineering development skills to develop applications, products, and tools! This position is onsite and based in our advanced engineering and development center in New Freedom, PA.

How you will do it

  • The candidate will perform duties as the team’s Data Center Controls Technical Lead.

  • As a member of the Controls & Systems Engineering team, the candidate will work with other engineers in developing, testing, and supporting controls for Chiller Solutions’ products.

  • This individual must be an analytical thinker and be disciplined in applying robust design methodologies and engineering principles (modeling, simulation, statistics, data acquisition, etc.) to develop and realize equipment control solutions.

  • This individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently but must also be able to interface directly with electronics engineers, mechanical engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and research engineers to develop system-wide solutions.

  • This role will work with peers and specialists across disciplines to meet shared product milestones. In addition, the position will be responsible as lead for complex projects, which will involve implementation, reviewing work products, and mentoring junior engineers and interns.

What you will need

  • Experience working with and producing control and system requirements.

  • A qualified individual shall have a minimum MS in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong team-building skills to support fast-paced product delivery methodologies.

  • Ability to work successfully in and promote an agile engineering workplace.

  • Willingness to travel depending on team requirements.

  • Bi-lingual, English, and Chinese.

  • MATLAB / Simulink 8+ years of work experience.

  • Model Based Design with Code Generation 8+ years.

  • Model Based Design Automated Test 8+ years.

  • Model Based Design Thermal Modeling.

  • Graduate course in Advanced Controls.

  • Graduate course in Digital Signal Processing.

  • International Travel required.

  • Flexible work schedule covering USA and China time zones.

  • 7+ years in HVAC equipment design, development, and controls.

  • International Engineering Experience in Product Definition and Requirements 8+ years of experience.
