Responding to both emergent and non-emergent calls, this role involves evaluating the situation, diagnosing and addressing patients' immediate medical needs, and promptly and accurately conveying patient information to the medical team. It includes obtaining a basic medical history and conducting a physical examination to gauge the urgency and severity of the situation. Additionally, it entails delivering emergency care at the scene and during transport to the hospital, using necessary medical equipment to assess the extent of injuries or illness. This position also entails maintaining communication with the medical facility regarding the patient's condition, status, and estimated time of arrival. There may also be occasions where the individual is asked to provide patient care within the hospital, performing tasks assigned by registered nurses based on their training and capabilities.JustificationJustificationNeed increased staff to meet operational requirements and limit overtime. Education Qualifications:
Qualifications:
State licensure/certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or higher in the appropriate state of practice.
Work Experience:
NIMS 100, 200, 700
Over 75, need to have medical permission
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support) within one month of hire.
Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer.
Current (valid) US/State Driver’s License.
State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
