Summary
Position Summary: Manages clinical support staff to proactively respond to the needs of patients and physicians. Under direct supervision of physician, performs a variety of clinical responsibilities to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. Performs other functions to support Hospital and departmental requirements. Works proactively and in partnership with other staff contributing to effective operations. Delivers service in conjunction with the Hospital's customer service standards and expectations.
Tasks:
- Prepares examination/treatment rooms for examinations of patients by properly positioning instruments, equipment and supplies. Interviews patient to obtain reasons for visit such as nature of complaint, physical problems, symptoms of illness, etc. Prepares patient for examination by performing various routine physical assessments such as vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, etc. Prepares and assists health care provider during examination and procedures.
- Assembles patient record. Updates and maintains patient chart, confidential files and other departmental records.
- Performs duties and responsibilities to support internal and external compliance standards.
- Tracks and maintains logs for referrals for radiology, blood work, cytology, pathology, miscellaneous testing, etc.
Requirements:
Education:Graduate of accredited practical nursing program or medical assistant curriculum or equivalent.
Certification: American Heart Association CPR Certification
Experience: 1 - 3 years
