Role Purpose Statement

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Hot Food Supervisor to join our team. The Hot Food Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of hot food items in our kitchen facility. This role requires strong leadership abilities, exceptional culinary skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure that our hot food products meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Main Accountabilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the hot food production team, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure that all hot food items are prepared according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards, while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies required for hot food production, and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the hot food production area, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Conduct regular quality checks of hot food items to verify taste, texture, appearance, and temperature, and take corrective action as necessary to address any issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, menu planning, and logistics, to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of hot food products to airline customers.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to food preparation, safety, and hygiene, and ensure compliance with local health regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and control costs related to hot food production, including labor, ingredients, and equipment maintenance, to optimize efficiency and maximize profitability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new culinary techniques, and emerging technologies in hot food preparation, and recommend innovations or improvements to enhance product quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promote teamwork and communication among team members, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge required
  • In addition, one to three years of related work experience required
  • Problem solving and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve productivity goals
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
