Job Summary and Qualifications
- Demonstrates ability to obtain quality CT images and to perform CT Studies.
- Complies with radiation safety guidelines. Operates CT equipment safely.
- Demonstrates ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
- Render patient care in professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocol.
- Prepare CT scanner and perform quality control tests.
- Assist the radiologist in administering medication, contrast agents, performing biopsies and all types of care to patients.
- Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
- Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to policy and procedure.
- Completes and maintains educational requirements
What qualifications you will need:
- REQUIRED: Minimum 1 year of experience in Diagnostic Radiology.
- PREFERRED: At least 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist
- REQUIRED: Graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:
- REQUIRED: American Registry of Radiologic Technology
- AART – CT Technology within 6 months of start
- BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through American Red Cross
- PREFERRED: American Society of Radiologic Technology
- Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology
