Mercy is seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our HUB team in a non-patient contact role.

The Hub covers three main roles
- Patient Placement/Bed Planning
- Staffing/Nursing Logistics
- Coordinating Patients who transfer into a Mercy Hospital in the East
This position requires you to be onsite at Mercy STL and is a closed unit. This is a great role for an acute care experienced nurse looking for a way to stay involved at the bedside without the physical demands of primary nursing. This team primarily works on the phone/computer to keep the well-oiled machine running!

OVERVIEW:
The East Region Throughput Center RN serves as the clinical expert for the unit. There are three main focuses of this position:
- To be the first point of contact for providers or other healthcare facilities throughout the region that need/want to transfer/admit to a Mercy facility.
- The assignment of patients to an appropriate unit based on the identified criteria within each facility.
- Staffing
The position will utilize EMR modules, electronic scheduling systems and will collaborate with others within the unit as well as a variety of care teams. The ultimate goal is to facilitate a comprehensive, efficient and highly reliable admission, transfer and staffing experience for providers, patients and coworkers. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience in Telemetry or higher required.
- BLS
- RN needs to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills
- RN needs to demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- RN needs to present “Contagious Calm” in difficult situations
- RN needs to be flexible, approachable, collaborative and always seeking to improve
- RN needs to demonstrate strong leader skills and be self-motivated
