The Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Company seeks an experienced Management Liability underwriter. This position may be remote or based at our Headquarters inFairfield, Ohio.

Starting pay: The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $150,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

  • underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategies and guidelines for CSU’s Management Liability products:

-Directors and Officers Liability

-Employment Practices Liability

-Fiduciary Liability (ERISA)

  • participate in Management Liability product development including, but not limited to, coverage form creation, ratemaking and development of underwriting guidelines
  • monitor product results, developing ideas and marketing plans to increase productivity and profitability
  • serve as the point of contact for agents and underwriters to assist in growing this line of business
  • develop and maintain new and existing relationships with producers and agencies
  • maintain high service standards and conduct marketing visits in conjunction with underwriters and admitted lines counterparts
  • serve as a company subject matter expert responsible for training and educating the CSU Underwriting team
  • work collaboratively and independently with a high level of authority and judgment
  • be part of an Excess and Surplus Lines team that has a track record of producing profitable growth, while making a significant contribution to organizational goals
Qualifications:

Be equipped with:

  • proficiency in Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (preferred)
  • strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • organizational and time management skills
  • analytical and negotiating abilities
  • the ability to work closely with associates at various levels within the organization
  • a valid driver’s license (Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check, because the position may include a company vehicle.)

Bring education or experience from:

  • five to seven years of prior Management Liability underwriting experience with a carrier, broker or MGA (preferred)
  • candidates with a carrier background will be given preference. Complete training will be provided in Cincinnati, OH.
  • a bachelor’s degree (or commensurate work experience)
  • RPLU, RPLU+, ASLI or CPCU designation (preferred)
