JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides speech-language pathology services to patients in varying states of health and illness. The speech-language pathologist (SLP) functions as an essential member of therapy and multidisciplinary teams providing direct care to patients. The SLP works within a cooperative team model of care and supports other speech-language pathologists by sharing caseloads across sites. They provide evaluation and differential diagnosis of the communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorder, treatment and symptom monitoring, and education and counseling to the patient, family, or care provider. The speech language pathologist demonstrates progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility with a variety of specialized equipment including fluoroscopy (e.g. Modified Barium Swallow Studies) according to established practices. The SLP teaches and prepares patients/families and caregivers for continued care after discharge. The speech-language pathologist demonstrates dedication to professional growth and development and to the continuous improvement of patient care. The SLP may be involved in consultative services within the organization and in the community.

EDUCATION:

Master's Degree from an Accredited Speech-Language Pathology program. Clinical certification (CCC's) from ASHA. Licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the State of Vermont.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience with adults and children in a medical setting preferred. At time, we are unable to accept CFY applicants.
