Responsibilities:

MV Transportation is seeking an Employee Retention and Employee Relations Generalist for its Chicago (Pace) Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and conducting new employee orientation, employee engagement activities, follow-up with new employees, employee appreciation and recognition programs, off-boarding support, and other activities to improve overall employee experience and retention. The position will support the management team with employee investigations, including collecting documents, scheduling and conducting interviews, and maintaining confidential files. The position supports performance management programs, document collection, and data entry. In addition, this position will support any ad-hoc needs of the Human Resources function.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation and onboarding.
  • Ensures smooth on-boarding of new employees by following-up with employees and managers in recurring intervals.
  • Coordinates employee appreciation and recognition celebrations.
  • Supports the management team with employee investigations such as collecting documents, scheduling and conducting interviews, and maintaining confidential files.
  • Supports the probationary and regular evaluations by assisting with training, and supporting supervisors in completion of the PEPs as well as data entry.
  • Coordinates performance management, employee engagement, and other organizational development programs.
Qualifications:

Talent Requirements:

  • Five years of experience, one year of professional HR experience involving employee retention and employee relations.
  • Experience with presentations and/or public speaking such as orientations, onboarding, training or anything similar in a professional setting.
  • Experience with case intake, document collection, interviewing, and handling confidential materials
  • Specific experience in recruitment, selection, hiring, marketing, retention, and/or talent acquisition.
  • Strong project and relationship management skills required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including keen attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent time management and a willingness to work non-standard hours.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and handle multiple priorities effectively. Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and management skills.
  • Strong acumen engaging in conversations and producing work products that are centered in equity and inclusion best practices.
