As part of the Wellbeing & Rewards center of expertise, the Compensation Director delivers thought leadership, strategy and design of compensation, bonus, incentive and pay for performance plans for US, Canada and other Global RSM entities. The compensation director serves as a strategic advisor to key stakeholders to ensure effective execution of pay strategies. The compensation director leads the compensation team as part of an integrated Wellbeing & Rewards team.

Essential duties:
- Collaborates with HRBPs, talent acquisition and other business leaders to ensure pay practices, analysis and recommendations are meeting strategic talent needs
- Drives leadership awareness, commitment and accountability of compensation plans aligned to a total rewards philosophy
- Partners with internal counsel and external resources to stay up to date on regulatory changes including developing pay transparency strategies and analysis
- Champions timely and robust data collection and analysis processes to support research and market, pay equity, and other compensation studies
- Oversees annual salary administration and bonus/incentive delivery in partnership with Talent Technology and Talent Management
- Partners with Talent Management to ensure alignment between compensation and performance management
- Partners with internal finance and business leaders to align budgets and forecasting models
- Partners with Talent Analytics to identify internal reporting opportunities and delivery
- Ensures change management, resource, training, and support programs are in place to scale for a growing population.
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes consistent with compensation trends and company objectives.
- Provides leadership to compensation team that functions as strategic advisors that are aligned by business segment with deep knowledge and relationships
- In collaboration with the Wellbeing & Rewards Leader and other stakeholders, the compensation director identifies key communication opportunities for employees, HRBPs, talent acquisition and other business leaders
- Serves as a consultant to the acquisition team for domestic and international acquisitions on compensation-related topics during due diligence and integration phases of acquisition
Minimum requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Finance, business administration or related field
- 10 years of experience with designing base pay and incentive programs
- 5 years of leadership experience and managing teams
- Agile mindset, tacking and solving increasingly complex strategic business challenges
- Dedicated to talent development and mentorship
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Strong collaboration, engagement and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy during the process of educating, mentoring and coaching staff and business partners
- Deep knowledge of state & federal wage and hour regulations
- Deep knowledge of HR and compensation systems
Preferred requirements:
- Experience with compensation administration systems (i.e. PeopleSoft or Workday)
- CCP Designation
- Global compensation (Canada, India, El Salvador, UK)
- Executive compensation strategies

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $154,000 - $273,400
Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
