Work Requirements:
Monday through Friday
Weekend, weekday and holiday call rotation
10-hour days 6:45-5:15pm during the week.
Call includes OR and OB.
Call Requirements:
• At minimum two (2) shifts of call will be assigned each week Monday through Friday. Call shifts will start at the end of your working shift. For example, if you work 7am -3:30 pm your call will start at 3:30pm. Call shifts can be combined if requested for example you can request to have your two shifts of call from 3pm-7am to meet the 2 ( two) shift requirement. During the week, a shift of call is 8 hours.
• Weekend call is required. Currently weekend call starts on Saturday morning from 7am – 7am on Sunday morning and Sunday morning 7 am to Monday morning 7am. Each weekend call is 24 hours. At minimum one (1) weekend 24-hour call will be scheduled per 4-week schedule.
• Holiday call is required, at least one holiday call will be required in addition to the weekend call. Holiday call is 24 hours 7am – 7am.
• If someone on calls off for their assigned call shift, another call will be added to the next 4-week schedule.
• On call requires you to be at the hospital in 20 minutes for emergencies.
• For scheduled cases on call, you will need to be at the work site one (1) hour before the case starts
• After the on-call case ends RN’s will stay in PACU to support patient care.
• Surgical techs and RN’s will clean rooms, instruments and set up rooms before they leave the on-call case.
• C-sections are on call cases and the OR on call team staffs them. Staff will clean room and equipment used and replace disposable items used. Staff will also set up the room for an emergent C section before they leave.
Orientation
• In addition to offsite orientation, hands on orientation will be one week either 4/5 days depending on 8- or 10-hour shift
