Purpose

This Engineering Intern role is ideal for someone enthusiastic and looking to pursue a career in Product Design and Product Sustaining Engineering. Engineering Interns will be involved in a wide variety of applications and product design work.

The Harris Products Group Engineering Co-op and Internship Programs provide meaningful experiences that will enhance your education. Co-ops and Interns will be based at Gainesville, Georgia. This position will challenge your mechanical engineering skills and provide an opportunity to learn while you earn. The Engineering Co-op and Internship Program is designed to give candidates the chance to gain practical experience that will prepare you for a future at Harris Products Group. The projects you will work on are real. As a member of the program, you will be exposed to a broad range of engineering concepts in manufacturing such as:

  • Research & Development
  • Product Design Engineering
  • Value/Cost Engineering
  • Design for Manufacturability

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D Engineers to support new product development.
  • Review product design for better processes in a world-class manufacturing environment.
  • Develop manufacturing processes to create new products.
  • Analyze and improve the quality and production of global products.
  • Work in an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers on capital projects & production support.
  • Work with R&D to improve design of products for manufacturing.
  • Select, Specify, and implement equipment for improving products.

Qualifications

  • Pursing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
