The FSQA Technician is a contributing member of the team-oriented FSQA process, including responsibility for protecting the food by conducting food safety and quality sampling, testing and completing required documentation to meet Aspire Bakeries Integrated Management System Program (AIMS) requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts product tests and takes immediate action to correct product that is out of specification. Documents accurately.
  • Demonstrates and enforces the importance of Critical Control Points (CCPs) and rigorously monitors. Follows up with necessary actions to eliminate deviations.
  • Required to make decisions to stop production or place product on hold when product is out of specification. Follows hold procedures as necessary, and effectively communicates with supervision on all production stoppage events.
  • Notifies supervision in a timely manner of any unapproved changes made to product settings that could negatively affect quality.
  • Makes important observations about product, packaging, equipment, and environment. Takes appropriate actions to correct anything that is not up to Company or third-party regulations.
  • Demonstrates and enforces the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and monitors diligently. Follows up with necessary corrective actions when not being followed.
  • Monitors all equipment settings to ensure they are correct and accurately records findings.
  • Works on the Production line in a variety of positions in between QA duties.
  • Trains line leads to be the primary Q.A. technician back-up in their absence.
  • Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED; some college science courses or experience in the food industry preferred
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Ability to operate scales, metal detection and imaging devices, ovens, and other instrumentation and measuring devices
  • Experience with SAP
  • Must be 18 years of age

Hourly Rate: $22.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
