We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Cardiac Surgery Unit with a specific focus on the early mobilization of postoperative cardiac surgery patients. Work Environment
Setting: Cardiac Surgery Unit
Hours: 7A-3P/8A-4P/9A-5P
Physical Demands: The role involves frequent walking, standing, and patient lifting. Protective equipment and proper training will be provided to ensure safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Early Mobilization: Assist postoperative cardiac patients with early mobilization strategies, including but not limited to: bedside exercises, sitting up, standing, and walking, as directed by the RN and healthcare team.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs, pain levels, and overall patient comfort. Report any changes or concerns to the RN immediately.
- Assist with Daily Activities: Aid patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about the importance of early mobilization and provide guidance on exercises and activities.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient progress, responses to mobilization efforts, and any other relevant information in the patient's medical record.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team, including RNs, physical therapists, and physicians, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergency situations as needed, providing support and following established protocols.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a CNA training program required.
Certification: Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Kentucky.
Experience: Previous experience as CNA is preferred. Experience with early mobilization techniques is a plus.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Knowledge of cardiac conditions and postoperative care is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, assisting with patient transfers, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to safely assist patients with mobility.
