Shift/Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours/week, 1st Shift

The Nursing Excellence Quality Specialist is responsible for working in collaboration with Nursing Excellence/Quality leadership in developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring structures and processes as aligned with the National Database of Quality Indicators (NDNQI) program and the Magnet Recognition Program. This role supports organizational strategies and infrastructure to promote clinical quality, operational effectiveness, and shared leadership which are all essential to the Magnet Recognition Program. The specialist acts as a liaison with all departments within the healthcare system to promote nursing excellence/quality and to further the Magnet Program philosophy.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.

  • Bachelor’s in nursing (BSN)

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Strong organization skills and ability to meet tight timelines.

  • Familiar with ANCC Magnet Recognition Program criteria requirements and NDNQI program and how to meet established criteria.

  • Strong analytical skills and abilities in interpreting and evaluating data, generating well-developed reports, and concisely communicating results.

  • Flexible with time, able to meet multiple deadlines.

  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, and proficiency in displaying/presenting data in charts, graphs, tables, etc.

Kind and Length of Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in Acute Care Hospital setting and knowledge of ANCC Magnet Recognition Program.
