Our National Finance team is looking to hire a Workday Finance Reporting Manager.

The Workday Finance Reporting Manager is responsible for all work activities associated with the design, build, test, and deployment of Workday reports, including management of the review and sign off process with Workday Functional Leads and business subject matter experts (SMEs). The Manager will work with the Finance Data and Analytics Director to understand the proposed design of the Workday solution and the impact to providing reports to users. This Manager will also work with Functional Leads / SMEs to gather reporting requirements for all reports and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality- Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, and Discovery Boards. The role includes analyzing Workday delivered reports to determine whether current reports can be leveraged/configured or whether new custom reports are required. This Manager will also be responsible for educating the broader team of Data Analyst to better understand Workday Reporting and leverage the full power of Workday in our financial reporting and analytics function.

Essential Duties

Reporting governance, support and education

  • Participate in report reviews, including understanding and ensuring security and data privacy standards
  • Partner with Workday Security team to maintain data and privacy standards
  • Work closely with other members of the Workday functional team and serve as a subject matter expert for others regarding reporting and calculated fields
  • Provide finance data support for finance staff, all associate end-users, and members of senior leadership
  • Maintain proficiency and level of knowledge with all finance systems
  • Assists with the support of all aspects of Finance as it relates to data requests
  • Participate in delivery of reporting training
  • Train users on Workday reporting functions and available reports
  • Follow established standards and change management processes including report documentation Workday report creation, maintenance and optimization
  • Requirements gathering, build, test and debug Workday reports & Dashboards
  • Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
  • Create reports out of Workday and other database systems as required by internal stakeholders
  • Prepare finance metrics to be presented upon request or on schedule by senior leadership
  • Review reports and calculated fields regularly to optimize performance
  • Document report functionality and design to facilitate ongoing maintenance
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for report execution failures
  • Develop and modify advanced reports for finance team and business partners
  • Research new Workday reporting & analytics features and functionality to determine how best to meet user needs
  • Support Workday’s biannual releases through impact analysis to changes to Workday’s data model and create reports and dashboards to aid in identification of populations for release testing

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead development of Workday reporting skills in finance data analysts, including onshore and offshore team
  • Support broader LOB finance teams in leveraging workday reporting
  • Team with other Finance Data and Analytics (FDA) managers to manage workload of analysts assigned to produce Workday reports

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 7 years of work experience

PREFERRED:

  • Workday Report Writing certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

REQUIRED:

  • Aptitude in learning and mastering report writing tools
  • Knowledge of commonly used reports for Finance, Management reporting, Billing, Variance Analysis, etc
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required)
  • Ability to create a consolidated report by combining data from multiple data sources
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and oral communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Workday reporting including Calculated Fields, Advanced, Matrix, Trending and Composite
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workday dashboards, worksheets, and embedded analytics
  • SQL knowledge

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • Experience with Workday
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high level needs analysis and produce reporting and data analysis
  • Background in identifying, designing, testing, and deploying reports in an ERP system
  • Background in understanding Workday data that could be used in building reports
  • Finance functional background, ideally in Public Accounting or similar Professional services firms

PREFERRED:

  • 4+ years of Workday Report Writer
  • Workday PRISM, BIRT, Worksheets, Advanced, Matrix and Composite reporting experience

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Experience managing junior team members –heavily preferred. This role will manage up to 2 individuals.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $171,100

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
