Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for Customer Quality and all aspects related to engineering, product changes, suppliers, production, improvements, and launches. The Quality Engineer will have priority of tasks to capture, track, reinforce, and push customer issues pertaining to quality toward timely resolution and closure. The Quality Engineer will be the primary contact for the end item customer interface as well as potential external agencies. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of Customer Quality, including the proper utilization of the QVOC system
- Prepare reports, continuous improvement activities, and other KPI/KAI related documents for review across all levels of the organization
- Lead investigation and root cause analysis of non-conformances and ensure on time completion of all validation activities, including coordination of PPAP
- Understand customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
- Manage all customer support activities including the management of all 0km issues
- Perform other position related duties as assigned
Basic:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. (Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Mechatronics or related to STEM major may also be considered with technical industry experience)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
- Experience with quality certification and systems such as ISO9001/ATF16949
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree, in Chemical or Electrical Engineering or other related field
- ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Experience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Six Stigma Black Belt/Shainin Red X Certification
- Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or similar applications
- Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
