Job Description
The Cell/Module QA (Quality Assurance) in-line process Engineer is responsible for optimizing and improving manufacturing or production processes to ensure the quality and reliability of HV battery cell. Additionally, the QA in-line process Engineer must analyze current processes, identify bottlenecks, propose and implement improvements and ensure efficiency and quality standards are met. QA in-line Engineer develops strategies to streamline production, reduce waste, and enhance productivity while maintaining quality standard of HV battery cell/module. This role requires a strong understanding of quality engineering principles, statistical analysis, problem-solving skills, and effective communication to ensure the highest level of product quality.Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that processes meet quality standards and specifications, implementing quality control measures to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and monitor quality benchmarks for each stage of the manufacturing process
- Establish a quality KPI, check its progress. Monitor products, processes, and quality systems to prevent nonconformities
- Lead investigation and root cause analysis of non-conformances. Ensure continuous monitoring of all corrective actions and process improvement measures
- Review and update product specifications, inspection standards, manuals, and lesson learned activities
- Ensure on-going data collection and analysis to assure cell quality
- Continues improvement activity to optimize and enhance the efficiency of quality and inspection systems
- Perform data analysis to identify areas for improvement of quality system
- Develop, implement, and monitor efficacy of corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare updates and reports of quality outcome to communicate quality activities
- Provide management updates regularly
- Facilitate reviews to eliminate internal systemic and external roadblocks. Collaborate with management on team road map and strategy
- Work closely with key stakeholders to provide delivery according to schedule
- Manage multiple priorities and deliver internal and external results on time
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements for cell Quality Assurance

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. (Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered with technical industry experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial automation and controls experience with strong foundation in project management
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the organization including hourly employees to Senior Leadership
- Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally
- Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability
- Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
- Ability to coach / mentor / develop cell QC Inspectors
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work overtime as required
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
- Bilingual English / Korean
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Shainin Red X / Six Sigma Certification
- Experience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Experience with quality certification and system such as ISO9001/IATF16949 is required
- Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation
- Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications
- Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs
- ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability
Productivity and Efficiency Optimization
- Analyze and optimize productivity, yield, and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in manufacturing processes.
