Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven automation engineer to join our team in a highly automated factory setting. In this position the candidate will troubleshoot and transform systems data into actionable maintenance items to reduce and eliminate automated systems losses. This position will facilitate informed decision making for department staff by identifying losses and their causes in real time. This position plays a critical role in support of the departmental shift supervisor.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Execute real-time data analysis to identify and correct automated equipment faults.
  • Serve as the communication liaison between maintenance leads and departmental staff when system faults/errors are detected through monitoring.
  • Develop countermeasures to address issues through data analysis, using root cause analysis tools to drive losses down to zero.
  • Collaborate on the creation and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering departmental KPIs.
  • Maintain an interdepartmental meeting schedule to collaborate on machine loss mitigation.
  • Perform other position related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • A technical degree/certification or demonstrated experience in automated systems maintenance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international).
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of Industrial Automated Systems.

Preferred:

  • S. degree in an engineering/technology discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or technology.
  • Exposure to production control, supply chain, or material handling systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ownership and proficiency.
  • Cross-functional subject and/or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • To safely perform the essential functions of the position, you must be able to distinguish colors.
