Job Summary and Qualifications
The Surgical Technologist Extern delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basicpatient care services to support the efficient operation of the surgical suite. Under the supervision of the CirculatingRN, the Surgical Technologist Extern assists the surgical staff in the perioperative process in accordance with theSurgical Technologist Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient careteam with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The Surgical Technologist Extern iscurrently enrolled and in good standing in an approved school of surgical technology and can perform higher-levelprocedures once competency is achieved.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Currently enrolled in an approved Surgical Technologist program required
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) required (30 day grace period)\
