Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MES/Developer with expertise in Spring Framework to design, develop, and maintain Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role requires a strong understanding of MES architecture, system integrations, and software development principles, especially using the Spring Framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration between MES, equipment, and other enterprise systems. This role will also be able to identify abnormal behavior and fix issues as they are reported from the PI team. The MES System Engineer will need to have strong communication skills and knowledge of battery manufacturing equipment. Additionally, proficiency in both Korean and English is required to communicate with the MES System Engineer in Korea and collaborate with on-site equipment technicians.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain MES systems using the Spring Framework, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Manage integration between MES and other systems (e.g., SCADA, PLCs) while customizing modules based on operational needs.
- Provide technical support for MES issues, including debugging, troubleshooting, and analyzing interlock errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align MES functionalities with business processes and document configurations.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment, adhering to industry standards.
- Optimize MES systems for efficiency and reliability while staying updated on the latest technologies and best practices
- Perform other position related duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in coding/development
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data analysis and process optimization in manufacturing.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in MES monitoring and data analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills for prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues creatively and adaptively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in MES development and system integration, particularly in electronics, automotive, or pharmaceuticals.
- Proficient in the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data) and strong knowledge of Java, J2EE, and object-oriented programming.
- Familiar with network systems, firewalls, and proxies, as well as ERP, SCADA, and PLCs.
- Experienced with SQL databases, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and messaging systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
