Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Vice President of Hospice and Palliative Services (AVP), will support the mission of LifeBridge Health and Carroll Hospice, leading strategic and operational initiatives to grow and maintain one of the leading Hospice and Palliative Care programs in the Mid-Atlantic region and southern area of Pennsylvania.

The Assistant Vice President of Hospice and Palliative Services will have a thorough understanding of the LifeBridge Health and Carroll Hospice culture. The AVP will be responsible for directing, reviewing, and coordinating the business and clinical management for all patients in hospice care and within the Palliative Care program: she/he will direct and develop the administrative, clinical and admissions staff while broadening relationships and continuing to grow all referral sources across the Mid-Atlantic region and southern area of Pennsylvania. The AVP will work in collaboration with the executive team of Carroll Hospital Center and the Board of Trustees to develop operational and strategic plans.

The AVP will participate in community and system committees representing Hospice and Palliative Care and will maintain and grow positive partnerships within the LifeBridge Health communities.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree required;Master's Degree preferred
  • Bachelors degree in nursing, social work or other relevant degree.
  • Minimum of ten years (10-15) years of senior management experience required in a hospice or long-term home health care program or other appropriate health care setting. Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse preferred


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated passion and proven expertise dedicated to the mission of hospice care: improving the quality of life for patients needing end-of-life care, providing quality palliative, pain and symptom management and support for their families. Demonstrated knowledge of hospice Maryland government licensure regulations to ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and Medicaid hospice benefits. Excellent leadership and communications skills in order to operate and influence effectively at all levels in Carroll Hospice, Carroll Hospital and throughout the community. Excellent management abilities; sets and communicates guiding goals; measures accomplishments, holds people accountable. Ability to keep people informed with an inclusive, transparent leadership style. A self-starter with a high degree of intelligence, credibility, integrity and energy, having a strong desire to grow and expand Carroll Hospice. Strong executive presence, high professional and personal standards. Excellent business sense, the ability to influence and facilitate activities within Carroll Hospice, Carroll Hospital Center and within the community.
