Roles and Responsibilities:
- Directs, oversees and improves quality and safety of all maintenance of equipment activities at the Meadows Maintenance Complex, which includes Scheduled Maintenance (Periodic Inspections, Regulatory, Reliability, Overhauls and Capital Projects/Campaigns) and Unscheduled Maintenance (Running Repairs, Road Failures and other Unplanned Incidents).
- Develops and monitors budgets to ensure a cost-effective operation. Routinely working on auditing of all areas for compliance of established policy and procedures.
- Assists Deputy General Manager of Equipment on all Rolling Stock Maintenance, Overhauls, Capital Projects, Equal Employment Opportunity Issues, Labor Relation Issues, Customer Service, Governmental Topics.
- Identifies maintenance trends/issues and develops programs and procedures in response.
- Provides leadership with respect to NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations’ Safety Program within all areas of maintenance of equipment responsibility to ensure a safe working environment with a goal of injury elimination.
- Provides Management oversight within the Meadows Maintenance Complex to make sure there is compliance of all New Jersey Policies and Procedures.Provides support in the training of all Non-Agreement and Agreement Personnel.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Two (2) Year Degree in Business or Mechanical Engineering or related area and Five (5) years of progressive management experience in a transportation function.
- One (1) year of closely related experience may be substituted for each year of Education required.
