As a Quality Manager, you’ll have responsibility in managing implementing & reporting on the state of the 145-repair station quality management system, control of documents, control of records, internal & regulatory audits, analysis of data and corrective action plans.
What you’ll do:
- Provide leadership to the Quality department, act as a trainer, mentor & coach to the QC team, ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that work performed on articles for return to service is within the authority of the 145 repair station, reporting directly to the RS Accountable manager & maintain close relations with the regional QC director.
- Establish, implement, manage & maintain the standards and systems for ensuring that the organization’s compliance with all FAA regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a quality liaison with customers on all quality & regulatory matters.
- As required, schedule & host regulatory or customer driven audits, to include environmental & safety, maintain communications with regulatory agencies, provide documentation and/or acknowledgement of receipt of documents.
- Ensure contracted maintenance functions are current and FAA approved.
- Ensure currency & compliance of the repair station capabilities listings.
- Review and validate new product capabilities to ensure compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements before adding to capability listings and /or releasing first articles to return to service.
- Coordinate with engineering on revisions to technical data.
- Ensure repair station rosters, stamp control and employee summaries are maintained current and compliant.
- Plan & manage internal audits to include scheduling, performance and reporting out of findings & RCCA follow up.
- Manage corrective and preventive action requests from all sources of findings.
- Initiate and assign Preventive Action Requests to correct negative trends.
- Ensure all quality system manuals, procedures, work instructions, operation routers and inspection forms are appropriately approved and maintained current.
- Ensure all technical documents and data is maintained current and available to all repair station personnel.
- Work collaboratively with the site management team to drive lean initiatives. Evaluate risk factors, communicate & drive mitigation plans, seek operational excellence.
- Collects and analyzes quality data for the purpose of identifying trends with respect to non-conformance documents.
Position Requirements:
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of company instructions, company processes and other internal procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of airworthiness certification requirements and regulatory bodies (TC, CAAC, FAA, EASA, etc.) applicable to business unit needs.
- MUST have prior Quality experience as it relates to FAA Part 145 Repair Station and prior FAA exposure with FSDO office.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9110 quality system requirements
- Thorough knowledge of internal audit policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
- Bachelor Degree (BA) or five plus years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Supervisory experience in an aerospace manufacturing, 145 repair station environment, or airline maintenance.
- Thorough knowledge of NDT processes and requirements related to a 145-repair station or in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
