The Bartender at the Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati Loveland Northeast provides customized beverage service to each of the hotel’s restaurant/bar customer in a friendly, energetic, and timely manner. Responsible for assuring the guest is having a great time and/or relaxing while at the bar. Associates are passionate about guest service and can communicate effectively and multitask.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar area
- Stock beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, and produce
- Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- Promote and document orders for drinks
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice portion control
- Attend monthly departmental meetings
- Input orders into POS and creates a check for each guest
- Receive cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
- Lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank at end of shift as needed
- Sanitize and clean in and around the bar area
- Work effectively and efficiently with the service and kitchen teams
- Communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to supervisors and managers
- Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests, co-workers, and management
- Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
- Legal ability to serve alcohol in the State
- Knowledge of state and local guidelines regarding service of alcohol
- Knowledge of drink preparation, previous bartender experience preferred
- Computational skills to process guest payment
- Ability to lift trays of beverages or food items weighing up to 30 pounds regularly
- High energy and interpersonal skills
