LPN - Emergency Department

JOB SUMMARY

The licensed practical nurse (LPN) is a member of the Nursing Department. The LPN manages care for patients and their families through the application of the nursing process utilizing independent judgment, collaboration and communication with all team members. The LPN develops a plan of nursing care and utilizes established clinical pathways which are implement by the care delivery team with the supervision of the RN. The LPN provides and delegates patient care services based upon patient needs and team member skills/abilities. The LPN evaluates patient response to treatment and nursing interventions, and if needed, revised the plan of care. The LPN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.

REQUIREMENTS

• Preferred High School Diploma Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program

• Less than 2 years Less than 2 years Required

• CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider

• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Medical/Surgical or Orthopedics Certification or working towards RN degree preferred.
