Program Description:
The Student Surgical Technologist (SST) fellowship is a paid position for surgical technology students to engage in additional observational and clinical learning experiences to prepare them for clinical practice at the completion of their academic program. The fellowship is an 8 weeklong program running March 10th, 2025 through May 2nd, 2025. The program includes guided observational learning experiences within perioperative services to gain a greater understanding of the global perioperative environment as well as clinical learning experiences under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Certified Surgical Technologist. The SST fellows will also receive guidance and mentorship from members of the Perioperative Professional Development Team. For the duration of the 8 weeklong program, SST fellows will be expected to complete a minimum of 4 hours per week outside of their academic program (classroom and clinical rotation hours).

Qualifications
Application Requirements:
- Surgical technologist student currently enrolled in the CT State Community College program with a projected graduation in May 2025.
