Expectations/Incentives:
- Shift Differentials
- PRN co-workers are expected to work a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per six-week scheduling period as outlined in Mercy’s scheduling timeline
- PRN co-workers will accept these shifts during self-scheduling.
- One twelve-hour (12) shift of weekend time per schedule (Friday 3 pm to Monday 7 am)
- Holidays
- 1 summer and one winter twelve-hour (12) shift
Overview:
26 bed unit- provides excellent care to our community 24/7. We are a highly motivated, hardworking, extreme team focused and talented group of coworkers. Opportunity to care for a large variety of illnesses and injuries given there are no other trauma rated or pediatric specific emergency departments in our immediate area. Nurse to patient ratio is generally 1:4 for nurses. We do have patient care technician, paramedics and patient support associates as part of our care team as well.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required or or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
