US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.

As a System Engineer with a focus on SharePoint administration and development, you will directly engage with various command staff elements and partner nation personnel in the USAFRICOM AOR.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the dissemination of information in support of US and partner nation priority requirements.
  • Monitor US BICES-X networks for products and RFI’s posted by partners.
  • Facilitate secure transfer of documents between networks.
  • Provide user familiarization training to US and partner nation personnel.
  • Build/design/maintain dissemination portals (SharePoint) on US BICES-X networks.
  • Occasional travel to support events that involve the use US BICES-X networks
  • Provide monthly metrics and activity reports to leadership.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting of virtual infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft SharePoint Server site collections.
  • Promptly and effectively address tasks, messages, and requests for information (RFI).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and propose solutions.
  • Support system interruption troubleshooting and ticket resolutions outlined by service level agreement (SLA).
  • Support system operations patch management and software update cycles
  • Provide support to DevOps test, planning, and execution.
  • Escalate priority service interruptions to higher tier engineers and management as necessary.
  • Provide system and equipment specialized training and technical guidance as needed.
  • Work closely with Operations Lead to provide input to briefings, transition concepts to execution, course of action (COA) development, and assist in project technical planning and implementation.
  • Develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) and system documentation to support Risk Management Framework.
  • Collaborate with managers, network engineers, cyber security team, and customers on issues and solutions affecting information dissemination via SharePoint.
  • Maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance
  • May be required to perform duties outside of normal day shift hours.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced system administrators and engineers
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Provide timely communication and turn around for priority requests

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical experience required.
  • BA/BS required – may substitute additional years of experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in building, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft technologies and related platforms: Windows Server 2019, SharePoint 2016/2019/Online.
  • Understanding of Agile, ITIL, DevOps practices.
  • A demonstrated strong knowledge of troubleshooting SharePoint Server and associated Windows Server technologies
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must be DoD 8570.1 IAT level II compliant.
  • ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
  • Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft and Virtual infrastructure technologies.
  • Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Server.
  • May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator Expert or equivalent training.
  • Must achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to qualify for TESA, the candidate must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, OR; an Associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; 11 years of specialized experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Dell VxRail platform and VMware vSphere 7 or 8.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Rubrik backup solutions.
  • Experience with UVDS server.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with .NET/ C# applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQLServer and database administration.
  • Experience with partner nation engagement.
  • Experience working in a COCOM environment.
  • Experience briefing senior level US and partner military and government personnel.
  • PowerShell proficiency and an automation experience are strongly desired.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,690 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
