Rearranging E.S.D. employee assignments to provide coverage for employees' vacations and absenteeism
- Evaluating employees’ performance, mentoring and training employees, completing personnel reports, discussing problems, and counseling employees when necessary. Initiating corrective action procedures when necessary
- Performing record keeping such as daily documentation of work performed and payroll hours for employees
- Conducting inspections of assigned areas to ensure that work is being carried out in a proper and orderly manner
- Providing monthly written documentation of area inspections
- Establishing and maintaining interdepartmental relations with other departments such as: Linen, Dietary, Nursing, Engineering, etc.
- Continually updating personal working knowledge of regulations, area/unit requirements, chemical and equipment use and hospital policies. Recommending changes in policies and/or procedures to the Director.
- Assigning and responding with staff and equipment when emergency calls and situations arise, such as: fires, floods, disaster alerts and activations
- Evaluating new cleaning products, materials and equipment. Ordering supplies as needed, reports on equipment needs and conditions
- Providing coverage for other supervisors during their absences. Assisting E.S.D. employees with assigned tasks when necessary
- Monitoring specialized areas such as the receiving docks and entrances for cleaning and illegally parked vehicles
- Collaborating with the Security Department for towing of illegally parked vehicles
To qualify, you must have:- A High School Diploma/ GED is required and 3 years of previous experience
- The ability to solve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles.
- Good communication skills (English) in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well developed writing skills.
