Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures.
  • Performing and documenting quality assurance procedures on cameras, equipment in the hot lab and any other equipment. QC to be performed on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual intervals.
  • Proper use of all equipment in the department.
  • Performing, processing, and completing all procedures from start to finish. Including documenting necessary information required for interpretation by the radiologist/cardiologist.
  • High-level customer service with all patients/family members/employees/physicians and other visitors in the department and hospital. Including proper phone etiquette.
  • Explaining all procedures to patients and family members in a complete and understandable manner, answer all questions that the patient or family members have.
  • Competent in starting, using, and removing IVs.
  • Radiotherapy – scheduling, obtaining the required documentation, ordering the pharmaceutical, performing, completing, and proper documentation of the procedure with the authorized user.
  • Radiopharmaceuticals – proper ordering, handling, calibrating, administering, and disposal. Complete documentation for all parts.
  • Radiation Safety – require to wear radiation dosimetry badges at all time in the department and near radiation sources; practice ALARA at all times.
  • Perform mandatory radiation surveys and wipes and document the results. Be able to decontaminate the location, if radiation is detected.
  • Efficiently use of hospital medical record system (MEDITECH), radiology archiving system (PACS), and Nuclear Medicine record system (Nuctrac).
  • Assist and maintain the cleanliness, organization and stocking of the department. Reporting of low levels of supplies to the assigned person for ordering supplies. participation in quality control and improvement program.
  • Maintain certifications, CPR, and continuing education requirements.
  • Assist in ACR accreditation and maintaining requirements.
  • Technologist is required to rotate through all departments and participate in the call schedule.
  • Must be able to communicate, verbally and written, in a complete and precise manner with everyone.
  • Assisting in educations of students.
  • Any additional items asked for by supervisor/manage/director.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of AMA approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology. ARRT-N or CNMT licensed. Continuing education as required for licensure.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (within 6 months of hire).
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
