Labor and Delivery Nurse

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. RNs must use independent and considerable judgment in providing a wide variety of services. As directed by a physician, RNs also give patients medicines and treatments

What you will do in this role:

  • You willmonitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Maintainaccurate, detailed reports and records.
  • You will record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests toidentifyand assesspatient'scondition.
  • You willmodifypatient treatment plans asindicatedby patients' responses and conditions.
  • You will direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
  • You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • You willmonitorall aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
  • You will providecare -demonstratingcompetency in the care of the postpartum and newborn patient population.
  • You will prepare patients for andassistwith examinations or treatments.
  • You will provide education topatientrelated toself careand newborn care.
  • You will provide education topatienton discharge instructions.
  • You willassistwithmaintainingcompliance with federal,stateand other governing bodies such as Joint Commission
  • You willsupportsthe facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or other acceptable Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS certification (Other certifications asrequiredper Provision of Care for area of employment).
  • 1 Year of RN experience Required
  • Labor and Delivery experience preferred
