The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN’s duties include, but not limited to the following:
Directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical practice standards.
Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Supporting the organization’s vision, mission and values.
Utilizing knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care.
Participating in and accepting responsibility for functions delegated to the team.

  • Flexibility with the schedule, minimum requirement of 12 hours per week
  • The ability to work in new areas and cross train as opportunities arise within other units

  • One major and one minor holiday per year required, one week-end shift each 4-week schedule

If you work in One Specialty Area you will be compensated at $48.30/hour.Those Associates who work in 2 Specialty Areas will be compensated at $51.75/hour.If you work in the Emergency Department as well as other areas you will be compensated $54.00.

Provides competent, compassionate patient- and family-centered nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of the nursing process and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Demonstrates the Caring Theory principles and provides and maintains a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family and health team members.
Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
Demonstrates critical thinking in the provision and coordination of patient care.
Directs the coordination of care across settings and among caregivers, including oversight of licensed and unlicensed personnel in any assigned or delegated tasks.
Coordinates involvement of the patient, family and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
Communicates and coordinates the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other health care team members. Promotes continuity of care through effective hand-offs.
Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.
Provides care appropriate to age group of patients and specific functions on assigned unit(s) as described in the unit’s Scope of Service.
Participates in, contributes to and integrates the performance improvement into care delivery and participates in quality improvement activities. Such activities may include: exhibits compliance with regulatory and quality and safety requirements.
Collaborates with other professionals and directs nonprofessional nursing personnel in maintaining recognized standards.
Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
Appropriately utilizes nursing resources.
Interprets hospital and departmental policies and procedures to nurses and other health team members.
Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient/staff environment.
Provides input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
Participates in unit, departmental and hospital committees for formulation of nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practices.
Uses the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (ANA 2001) to guide practice.
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous, lifelong learning for self and others.
Teaches others to succeed by mentoring and other strategies, indicates readiness to precept, and serves as a unit preceptor for externs, nursing students, and new RNs.
