ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor (MLS Supervisor) functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for leading a laboratory department. With direct oversight of staff who perform clinical laboratory testing specific to that laboratory department.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with >2 years of experience in a high-complexity clinical laboratory.
- ASCP or equivalent
- Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
- If the certification does lapse, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) or Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated
- Current knowledge of pathology laboratory techniques and principles
- Clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician within a clinical laboratory
- 1+ years’ experience with high complexity testing if indicated (required for Blood Bank)
Preferred Job Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in a clinical laboratory
Previous experience in a leadership role, billing compliance, performance improvement, and regulatory standards
