Veterinary Technician – Anesthesia Nurse
We’re expanding our team and seeking a skilled veterinary nurse (vet tech) to join our Anesthesia Department. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience monitoring anesthesia, with exposure to both critical and non-critical cases preferred. A current CVT/LVT/RVT license or educational equivalent is preferred.
The schedule(s) we are hiring for is:
- 6 a.m. - 4 p.m.: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - Wednesday/Thursday at the surgery center; Monday/Friday at MVA
- 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - Wednesday/Thursday at the surgery center; Monday/Friday at MVA
Requirements
Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients:
- Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
- Work with board certified Anesthesiologists
- Position and capture of radiographs
- Communicate with clients , and team members (verbally and written)
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor required
- Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
- Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
