The purpose of the RBT at Care Options for Kids is to assist in delivering behavior-analytic services while practicing under the direction and close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement Behavior Support Plans.
Minimum Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements and carries out behavior support plan under the supervision of the BCBA
- Works with clients, consultants, staff, families, and community to implement client'sbehavior supportplan
- Consistently implements behavior plans to reduce client's maladaptive behaviorand promote desired appropriate behaviors
- Adheres to the RBT ethics requirements
- Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include client physicalaggression as directed in the Behavior Support Plan
- Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistentand timely manner
- Observes records, and reports the condition and behavior of the clients, includingmaintaining daily records
- Openly flexible and responsible when working with multiple children at one time, whennecessary
- Becomes fluent in the understanding and application of each child’s Behavior Support Plan
- Works alertly and attentively with clients
- Adheres to the RBT supervision requirements
- Renews credential as required by the BACB guidelines on an annual basis
- Assists in creating instructional materials
- Follows COFK policies and procedures
- Maintains punctual and regular attendance
- Assists with maintaining cleanliness of the center daily
- Actively participates in staff trainingprograms designed to increase overall skills
- Attends and participates in meetings and other COFK sponsored events
- Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with management, parents, behavioranalysts, therapists, and clients
- Encourages an environment of dignity and respect at all times
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed the requirements for RBT credential
- Specialized knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children, preferably with special needs
- Proven ability to work within a team, leadership skills, and problem solving abilities
- Strong core values, such as integrity, loyalty, trust, leadership, teamwork are required
- Exhibits positive and proactive approaches to problem solving
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Working Conditions:
RBTs are required to be available to work any schedule within COFK’s core business hours of 8:15 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday. COFK Employees' first 90 days of employment are considered an introductory period. Employees must successfully complete the introductory period, which is also considered a new hire training period. All COFK employees will be considered full time if scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more and are eligible to earn paid time off (PTO) upon successful completion of the 90 day introductory period. COFK employees who work 6 hours or more per day will be given a 30-minute lunch break.
Physical Requirements:
RBTs must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop and reach, as well as be able to effectively handle client physical behaviors to ensure overall safety of client and self.
