YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to drive the transformation and migration of our existing data capabilities from on-premise environments to a cloud platform. A successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data architecture that spans both environments, ensuring a seamless, secure, and scalable solution that will enable best in class service that our policyholders and their families expect and deserve – now and in the future. The role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, cloud migration strategies, along with a passion for driving data strategy in alignment with strategic business objectives.

What you will be doing

  • Participate as a key/senior resource in the design and development of robust, scalable data architectures that integrate on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.

  • Assist in the development and execution of a strategic roadmap for migrating existing data platforms and assets from existing infrastructure to our Azure enterprise data platform, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Design and optimize data models for both transactional and analytical purposes, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability across environments.

  • Partner with technology, governance, and business stakeholders to align data efforts with strategic organizational goals.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to data architects, engineers and other technical team members.

  • Ensure data compliance, security, and governance standards are a key part of all developed data solutions.

  • Stay current with industry and technology trends, best practices, and innovative solutions in the data architecture and cloud data services space. Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions that add value to the organization.

What you bring

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.

  • 5 or more years of data management, data architecture, and data modeling/design experience

  • Proven development experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and associated data offerings.

  • Strong experience with on-premise data solutions (e.g. Greenplum, Oracle) and associated ETL & data integration tools (e.g. Informatica).

  • Knowledge of data governance, cloud architecture principles, containerization, and security practices.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Leadership experience in driving cross-functional projects, collaborating across teams, and effectively manage competing priorities.

Nice to Have:

  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Certified Azure Architect)

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Spark or Kafka.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire) and data science frameworks

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. HIPAA)

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $ 124,500 up to the maximum of $201,500. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 15% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
