JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to provide care for children and adolescents with a wide-range of ailments, from common childhood diseases to life-threatening illnesses. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

In this role you will:

· Demonstrate knowledge and application of the nursing process to infants, children, and adolescents.

· Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.

· Measure patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, breathing and heart rate, and initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.

· Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings, such as EKG tracings, O2 stats, CVP/arterial line waveforms, if applicable, and reports any observed changes.

· Change dressings, inserts catheters, starts IVs (both central venous & arterial).

· Administer infusion therapy, including: IV fluids, antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals, electrolytes

· Assist with the insertion or discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, epidural catheters and endotracheal tubes, Foleys.

· Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments.

· Provide education, information, and support to the patient’s family.

Job Requirements:

· Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred

· Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required

· BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued card required

· ACLS-American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required

· PALS-American Heart Association PALS Provider issued card required

· 2 Years acute care pediatrics, ICU, or PICU experience preferred
