CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The primary responsibility of the Global Accounting & Intercompany COE department (the COE) is to be a subject matter expect on certain specialized areas of U.S. GAAP accounting and company policies. The Director of the COE specifically supports this mission by overseeing specific accounting areas, such as revenue (ASC 606), inventory (ASC 330), long-lived assets (ASC 350, 360 and 842), accounting system mapping, and general accounting & intercompany. As a dynamic leader with strong project management and accounting skills, you will lead your teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s financial statements while maintaining a focus on internal controls. In addition, you will be a business partner to the Company’s global enterprise finance functions and the commercial businesses by focusing on best practices and process simplification for the accounting areas of responsibility. You will also oversee the execution of, but not limited to, the following activities associated to the areas of focus for the global enterprise:
- Understand, review and provide input on the global accounting policies and procedures within the COE with a focus on standardization, when applicable.
- Identify opportunities for accounting process simplification/automation to gain efficiencies.
- Focus on risk identification and mitigation through effective design of internal controls within the COE. This includes proper documentation and review, including for management review controls and information produced by the entity.
- Act as the business process owner for the accounting procedures and practices within the COE, including understanding and application of accounting guidance according to U.S. GAAP.
- Inspire the COE team to increase financial accuracy and transparency via clear definitions and good standards of operations.
- Lead and review the impairment considerations related to the company’s long-lived assets on quarterly/annual basis.
- Collaborate with the Global Technology Office team in the design, testing and implementation of new systems utilized within the financial close process to ensure appropriate accounting treatment is generated for transactions.
- Collaborate with the Technical Accounting and Controllership teams on strategic/complex accounting transactions such as M&A and legal entity rationalizations.
- Oversee talent management plans to develop high-performing finance and accounting talent that meet organizational and personal goals.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting
Preferred:
- Masters or MBA
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Prior experience managing a team of professionals, including fostering talent development and a collaborative work environment
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with process documentation, internal controls, accounting research, etc.
- Experience with identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline accounting operations, drive innovation and increase efficiency
Preferred:
- Substantial experience working with external and internal auditors
- Familiar with Oracle and Onestream
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Executive-level written and verbal communication and presentation skills to communicate to staff, peers, and senior executives succinctly and effectively.
- Comprehension, application, and research of accounting concepts and trends.
- Experience in maintaining key controls to ensure compliance with SOX and other organizational standards.
- Application of data and statistical methods to gain insights and make informed decisions in financial management. Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data.
- Aptitude to effectively engage stakeholders and change others' attitudes, behaviors, and decisions towards achieving desired outcomes through communication and engagement strategies. It involves strong communication, negotiation, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt and collaborate with varying types of stakeholders.
- Development of visual representations of data that can help communicate key insights, trends, and findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Ability to professionally handle highly confidential information.
