POSITION TITLE: Tax Analyst, Accounting

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the corporate accounting team. This role is responsible for managing sales tax registration, administering the sales tax system and platform, processing returns, completing validation analyses, and interfacing with external tax agencies. The ideal candidate will have expert ability to solve complex problems, be highly analytical and forward thinking, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude to achieve results.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has full understanding of the accounting ERP and workflows with expert ability to monitor transactions, process returns, perform advanced data analysis and audits, etc.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on sales taxes; requires expert understanding of the sales tax exemption process, registration requirements, and state nexus thresholds
  • Responsible for processing sales and use tax returns, maintaining active state sales tax nexus registration, and preparing sales and property tax returns
  • Performs advanced system audits and order management data validation to ensure timely, comprehensive, and accurate processing; performs regular system and transaction audits
  • Manages customer relations by performing customer outreach, resolving disputes, onboarding new customers with appropriate certification, and processing refunds as necessary
  • Manages all tax-related communications with outside entities; ensures audits, requests, and inquiries from tax authorities are responded to in a timely manner to correct errors and ensure compliance
  • Oversees the administration of the tax automation platform and manages vendor relations for that program
  • Serves as a strategic business partner with the ability to make business-impactful recommendations and improvements through data analysis
  • Assisting with providing information on Federal and State tax filings
  • Support with external auditing process
  • Performs other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates out of a temperature-controlled office environment
  • This position may be required to use standard office equipment such as phones, computers, printers, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 2+ years of Sales & Use Tax experience required
  • Personal Property Tax experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
