About the Role
In this role, you will maintain and repair fleet vehicles to keep them in top working order. This includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, state safety inspections, and responding to road service calls. Your work ensures safe, reliable transportation for the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on medium- to heavy-duty vehicles.
- Assist senior mechanics with major repairs and overhauls.
- Conduct state safety inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Respond to road calls for disabled vehicles, performing minor on-site repairs or arranging towing as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and complete accurate documentation of work performed.
What You Bring:
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year(s) of experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair (vocational training may substitute).
- Skills: Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues, knowledge of vehicle maintenance and tools, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Certifications (or ability to obtain): CDL Class B, DOT Medical Card, PA Inspection License, AC 609 Certification, and ASE certifications.
- Availability: Flexibility with shifts, overtime, and emergency response needs.
- Tools: Must provide personal hand tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in varying environmental conditions.
