What you will do
We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join our growing team! With Safety as a must, driving adherence to always ensure safe operation of powered industrial equipment and compliance with all safety rules.
This role will report directly to the Director of Materials. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for warehousing, material flow and on time delivery of various production components across multiple lines to meet their requirements.
Inventory control is a top focus in this position, ensuring accurate and timely material movements are transacted each time.
This position will also lead change in our methods of material storage and delivery, adopting and implementing new more efficient methods.
Manage & deliver summaries of CTB / material health risks across a specific product line.
Support Critical Material Reviews (CMR), improving our cross-functional collaboration and tactical problem solving.
Clearly define standards of material escalation levels that serve as critical inputs to CMR cadences.
Leverage existing tools / systems (SAP, LeanDNA, PowerBI) to enable better analytics and team efficiency.
Provide root-cause summaries through data analytics as critical inputs to our material planning & procurement functions to problem solve.
Influence team culture through positive, high-energy engagement.
How you will do it
The Materials Manager will oversee the storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages and trains supervisors in the materials operations department.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
Directs production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts.
Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.

Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 3-5 years of industry / functional experience.
Functional expertise in material fulfillment and supply chain. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical tools / systems to increase efficiency and standard processes.Demonstrated ability to analyze supply & demand requirements (LOB) to identify material risk.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external supply chain and simultaneously drive accountability to improve delivery against need.
Demonstrated ability to summarize, simplify and communicate complex messages cross-functionally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
APICS Certification preferred.
Ability to travel ~15%.
