Description

Sign on Bonus-$2,000 (the "Signing Bonus"), payable in two installments. The first installment of $1,000 will be paid upon receiving your first paycheck and the second installment of $1,000 will be paid after 6 months of continuous employment. Clinicians eligible to receive this bonus must be currently licensed in Texas.

JOB PURPOSE: The Clinician at the Eagle Lake Childrens Center provides professional therapeutic services on a regular basis to unaccompanied minor children (UC) receiving services in a shelter setting while in the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Conduct mental health assessments.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group counseling services.
  • Screen children, upon arrival for human trafficking concerns.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Develop a treatment plan for each child assigned to their caseload.
  • Carry caseload of up to 12 clients at one time per ORR standards.
  • Work cooperatively with Case Managers and other members of the Treatment Team to provide relevant updates on client status.
  • Provide weekly updates on childrens progress to stakeholders during childs case staffing.
  • Maintain responsibility for clinical documentation, such as progress notes, child assessments, service/treatment plans, and other forms.
  • Participate in Rotation Schedule for On-Call duty.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old or older.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills) required.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools.

  • Successfully pass a TB test annually.

  • Successfully pass a drug screen.

  • Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned task.

  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state, federal, and local child protection agency registries.

  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.

  • Affidavit for Applicants for Employment with a Licensed Operation or Registered Childrens Home.

EDUCATION:

  • Masters degree in Social Work or a Licensed Professional Counselor,with clinical experience in a program; OR

  • Masters degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement.

  • Must have an active license.

WORK LOCATION:

  • Eagle Lake Childrens Center - in-person.

OTHER: Operational needs may require occasional working evenings and/or weekends. Able and willing to travel in case of an emergency evacuation and as the business needs.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to staff, board, funders, vendors, customers and the general public.

COMPOSURE: Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and co-workers. Excellent interpersonal skills, including good communication skills, listening skills, and attitude.

COMPUTER: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools.

DECISION MAKING: Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of the decision. Requires high level of concentration, focus and use of memory. Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems.

MANAGEMENT: Must be highly organized, detail orientated, and reliable. Able to manage a caseload of 12 minors.

NEGOTIATION: Ability to present the organization in a professional manner in all negotiations.

ORGANIZATION: Ability to keep various on-going projects organized and files maintained accurately. Above normal levels of concentration and memory required. Requires good time management practices and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.

PLANNING: Knowledge of clinical practices as they apply to managing a caseload.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Orientation: 40 hours

On the Job: 6 months to one year

MACHINE, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDES:

Multi-line telephone, computer, ten key calculator, printer, copier, fax, two-way radio.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant Ability to communicate with staff, co-workers, and children in a professional and trauma-informed manner.

Frequent Ability to input data into the computer, make calculations, complete paper work, produce progress reports.

Occasional Ability to lift, stack, load and move up to 25 lbs. from varied heights.

Occasional Ability to drive safely and recognize hazards.
