UniTech is seeking a reliable and hardworking Decontamination/Jr. Health Physics Technician. ORSC's core business is the processing of Low-Level Radioactive Waste.
Responsibilities:
- Decontamination of contaminated radiological tools and equipment and assist Sr. Health Physics Technicians with evaluating radiological conditions, job coverage, air sampling and routine facility surveys.
- Package and sort incoming waste materials to determine if the waste meets UniTech’s Bulk Survey for Release Program.
- Learn and maintain unrestricted radiological release surveys and techniques and provide detailed recordkeeping.
QualificationsRequirements:
- High school and/or GED equivalent is required.
- Prior experience working in Nuclear Power Facilities, DOE Laboratories, Other Radiological Licensed Facilities.
- Prior experience as a Jr. HP/Decontamination Technician is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in the Periodic Table of the Elements and the Chart of the Nuclides.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to learn Canberra Genie 2k ISOCS modeling.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs in a non-climate-controlled building on a concrete floor.
