Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health Van Drivers transports adult clients to and from the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus daily. Responsible for van schedules and updates. Responsible for scheduling van maintenance and maintaining service records. Performs weekly van safety and maintenance checks. Maintains all necessary paperwork on vans: registration, insurance 1.D., etc. Schedules van motor vehicle inspections. Participates in work units and recreational/social activities and all other duties as determined by supervisor. Attends bi-weekly multi-disciplinary staff meetings. ls responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid US Driver's License and CDL
- Comfortable operating twelve to fifteen passenger van
- One to three years prior knowledge of mental health/psychosocial programs, as well as familiarity with Ocean County area
Preferred:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (i.e. verbal, written)
- Bilingual (dependent upon facility) strongly preferred
- General knowledge of auto mechanics
Scheduling Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Transporting clients of MMCSC outpatient services, wound care and employees
- Assists patients with ambulatory challenges
- Attends bi-weekly multi-disciplinary staff meetings
- Coordinates van repairs with daily program activities
- Documents all van repairs and maintenance in log book
- Maintains all necessary paperwork on vans: registration, insurance l.D
- Performs supply pick-ups and is available for other transportation duties as assigned
- Schedules yearly van motor vehicle inspections
- Supports Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Community Connection Policy and Procedures
- Transports clients to and from program on a daily basis
- Transports clients to lab for bloodwork
- Updates client's transportation schedules, and coordinates transportation of new clients with program staff
- Evaluate and respond in a timely manner to events and incidents in accordance to System policies.
