Will manage 5 CT scanners and approximately 25 technologists. Fast pace, growing department with plans to add a 6th scanner. Looking to expand our lung screen and cardiac programs. Provide support for our 20+ network facilities.
Summary
Exercises professional judgment in the clinical oversight of operations within the radiology department. Accountable for the success and performance of the daily operations. Supervises technical staff, students and support personnel assigned within the various areas of the department. Works closely with staff, Radiologists, and Physicians.

Job Description
Ability to operate and troubleshoot: Picture Archiving and Communication System Quality (PACS), computers, monitors, and other radiology equipment. Provides internal support for all systems necessary to the operation of the radiology department, to include but not limited to, the electronic medical record, PACS system dictation systems, image sharing programs, etc.
Participates in annual appraisals for CT staff. Participates in the process of hiring, promoting, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Has 24-hour accountability for the areas under their control. Displays the ability to lead the radiology departments in all functions. Ability to act in a supervisory capacity as needed for oversight of image quality, radiation protection, and patient flow. Provides direction to technical staff and support personnel.
Assists with budget preparation. Recommends policy development and revision. Supervises and coordinates the care and maintenance of various equipment. Maintains familiarity with equipment operation and direct technical staff. Reviews and understands policies regarding safety, free/emergency preparedness, hazardous substance, and infection control. Assists in staff areas as required and interacts with co-workers effectively and courteously to enhance the team concept. Maintains an active program of professional development related to individual, professional, and institutional needs. Provides input to capital requests. Assists with cross-market standardization.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of radiology is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a radiology technologist. Five years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Possesses extensive knowledge of imaging practices and procedures, as well as business/management knowledge and skills. Possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of state and local healthcare regulations and accreditation standards. Ability to implement, apply, and provide instruction for imaging technology.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
