BASIS Independent Bellevue is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Middle School Tennis Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for middle school students.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and Conduct Practices:
    • Plan and execute tennis practices twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
    • Develop and implement skill-building drills and exercises suitable for middle school students.
    • Focus on fundamental techniques, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Player Development:
    • Provide constructive feedback to players to help them improve their skills.
    • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes personal growth and confidence.
    • Develop strategies to accommodate varying skill levels and ensure an inclusive experience for all participants.
  • Game Preparation:
    • Prepare students for interscholastic competitions, emphasizing both individual and team performance.
    • Teach game strategies and reinforce proper match etiquette.
  • Safety and Supervision:
    • Prioritize the safety of players during practices and matches.
    • Supervise students at all times and enforce safety rules.
  • Communication:
    • Facilitate parent meeting at the beginning of the season: March 4th
    • Facilitate end of season gathering by offering team awards: May 24th
    • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school administration.
    • Provide regular updates on team progress, upcoming events, and any other relevant information.
  • Team Building:
    • Foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among players.
    • Organize team-building activities to strengthen bonds and enhance the overall experience for participants.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of tennis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive and motivational coaching style.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups of students.

Schedule:

  • Practices: Wednesdays and Fridays, 4:15 PM to 5:45 PM.
